Hi everyone. Yesterday I made White Chocolate Cherry Chunkers. Here is a picture that I took before I put the cookies in the oven. They came out pretty good. I was worried the I might burn the cookies because I wasn’t sure about the racks in the oven. But I finally did get it right, with some help.

They tasted like they were baked almost perfectly. The cherries, white chocolate, and the oats were a nice combination. I was worried too about the cookies being to chunky, but they weren’t.

Thursday

Hi everyone. Looking forward to a new recipe to try out. I went grocery shopping this past Tuesday, and I got some extra sugar and eggs. Also, I want to do things like restaurant reviews and I can try to teach others how to cook.

I had a nice Labor Day weekend.

I noticed that there is a new book from Anne Willan called “Women in the Kitchcn.” It sounds really interesting.

Blueberry Buckle

Here is a picture of the Blueberry Buckle that I baked on Monday, August 31. This is my first attempt at making Blueberry Buckle. There were three layers to this Buckle. The recipe called for eight 6-ounce ramekins, souffle dishes or one large Pyrex pie pan.

I love blueberries. The top of the Buckle had a delicious crumb and the middle wasn’t too wet or soggy. It would have tasted even better with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped topping.

Enchiladas

Here is a picture of the Enchiladas I made on Sunday, August 30. I thought they came out good – although it took a really long time to do this.

Despite all of the difficulty that I had in finishing this recipe I’m happy I did this.

This was my first attempt at making Enchiladas. It tasted fine, not too spicy or unusual.

Two recipes

Hello everyone. I’ll be cooking two recipes for the next two weeks – Black Bean and Mango Enchiladas and Blueberry Buckle.

I’ve also been on WordPress for a while and reading other people’s posts about cooking and baking. I would cook even more but I need to figure out what to cook and make sure I have everything I need.

Pound Cake

This past Wednesday I made a pound cake. I thought it came out pretty good – the first time I made it was in late 2014. This time, I thought it came out better – I thought the orange and lemon zests really improved the taste of the pound cake, along with the almond extract and ground mace.

My next recipe will be Almond Squares, I’m pretty sure.

I baked today

Today I made Blueberry Crunch Coffeecake. I thought it came out good. There was a delicious topping made of sliced almonds and dark brown sugar. The inside of the cake was not too dry and the blueberries held their own. It’s been a while since I’ve baked something. I will do some reading on WordPress tonight before going to bed.
